Winners announced for UK 's only awards dedicated to digital music entertainment

Now, I don't know how many of you are familiar with the, “BT People's Choice Awards”. Also known as the, “BT Digital Music Awards” or the, “DMA” (Digital Music Awards).

Basically the DMA's are –as the title suggests- awards relating to digital music. Now I was made aware of these awards last year and even registered this blog with only 3 or 4 weeks left to go.

From the official website, “The People's Choice awards are your chance to enter your music website or blog into this year's BT Digital Music Awards, and hopefully collect one of our fantastic trophies! This year, alongside the award for best music website, we've got a brand new category for music blogs so now there's even more chances to win! “

However, after registering the idea is to put a link from your blog, allowing people to vote, now after weighing up the pros and cons of this, I decided against it. So imagine my surprise when I came in the top 50 blogs!!!

And after doing a little investigation it would appear that every other blog in the top 50 had indeed provided a voting link.

So some visitors to this blog must have actually known about the awards and voted for this blog completely off their own backs, with no prompting at all!! For that I really am truly thankful, and that is the main reason for this post, I know that it's now 2007 and yes I have known about this since the results were announced but I didn't want to bang on about awards.

That said I feel it would also be unfair for me to let this pass without offering some form of thanks to the people who voted, especially as I never made it easy for them to do so. And let's face it, one of the main reasons for the existence of this blog is to try and provide information, assistance and entertainment whenever possible.
