Watch, Generator - The Holloways Music Video, Brief History and Lyrics

The Holloways Band Photo

The Holloways Black & White Band PhotoThe Holloways are a four-piece band from North London . Their single Two Left Feet entered the charts at number 33 in July and their album, “So, this is Great Britain?” was released on October 30 on the TVT label. The band has attracted great attention in the media and an almost fanatical live-following.

The band formed in a live-music venue called Nambucca on the Holloway Road in 2004, the members are Alfie Jackson (Vocals, Guitars and Harmonica), Rob Skipper (Vocals, Guitars and Fiddle) Bryn Fowler (Bass & Backing Vocals) and Dave Danger (Drums & Egg Shaker).

I have included the lead track Generator, Music Video. Although Two Left Feet is a similar proposition with a harmonica overdub running throughout. Expect great things from this band although they seem to be positioning themselves firmly against the establishment a little too early in they careers, sort of delusions of working class heroes.

While some of the tracks prove an insightful look into the, “underdog” way of life some of them came across as a little too bleak a little too soon. However, I feelthis will be sorted out as they will undoubtedly mount a full frontal assault on the mainstream chart in 2007!!

Generator, The Holloways Mp3 Song Lyrics
Album: So This Is Great Britain?
Year: 2006

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I don’t live in poverty,
I got a little bit of money and I’ve got a healthy body.
I'm not going to let stuff get me upset,
And I won’t let all the little things get me depressed.

When I was a young boy I got a stereo
And I taped all the songs straight off the radio.
The sounds that the bands made,
And the melodies is all I need to make me feel free.

Sometimes you get so low, you don't know why,
Or a little upset all inside.
May I remind you? That you don't live in poverty,
You got your youth, and you got food in your belly.

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.
I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I don’t live in poverty,
I got a little bit of money and I’ve got a healthy body.
I'm not going to let stuff get me upset,
And I wont let all the little things get me depressed.

When I was a young boy I got a stereo
And I taped all the songs straight off the radio.
The sounds that the bands made,
And the melodies is all I need to make me feel free.

Sometimes you get so low, you don't know why,
And you get a little unsettled inside.
May I remind you? That you don't live in poverty,
You got your youth, and you got a roof over your head.

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I'll set up a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better
