The Transplants (Some of my friends sell records, some of my friends sell drugs), Diamonds & Guns

The Transplants

I was into the Trasplants in a big way back when Diamonds & Guns (LISTEN) was first released. But I fell out of love with it almost as quickly when it appeared very soon after on a VERY well known womens hair product advert on mainstream television, which is still aired frequently enough to annoy.

I know this may sound a little pretentious but a brief background check will maybes enlighten you. You see –in my humble opinion- The Transplants could almost me labelled as, “A SuperGroup!!” It included Punk rock veterans Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Travis Barker (Blink-182) and Rob Ashton (A Roadie and friend of Armstrong's) so money and fame wasn't really a problem, especially as the song was doing so well anyway due to MTV & rave reviews in the Music Press. But I digress!!!

The band followed up the success of Diamonds & Guns by touring with the Foo Fighters. Early 2005 Travis Barker said that he was returning to working with Transplants and another couple of side projects.

The Transplants' second album, titled Haunted Cities, was released in June 2005. Then it's all a bit hazy as in an interview with Rob Aston and Paul Wall on January 16, 2006 about their new project with Travis Barker, Expensive Taste, Rob commented that the Transplants had broke up.

In the interview he stated "The Warped Tour had just ended and Transplants had just broken up"

It's nice to keep the fans in the loop!!!
